This morning the DOT started work on the pedestrian plaza that’s being built out at the Putnam Triangle on Putnam and Fulton. The plaza, which will cover 15,000 square feet and include the sidewalk on Putnam as well as the street itself, should be ready for public use by next Friday, according to Patch. Over the next few days many of the plaza’s features—including planters and movable tables and chairs—will be installed. Phillip Kellogg of the Fulton Area Business Alliance says the plaza has also been approved for a bus shelter that will be put in at some point in the future, while trees and benches will be installed later this fall. Public art will also be part of the mix next year. All very cool! There will be a block party on Sunday, September 25th, to celebrate the opening; more details here.
