Park Slope
Ivy Garden, the new grocery store on the corner of 4th Avenue and President Street, is up and running. How does it measure up? FIPS gets a tip that Fatoosh is turning into a Thai restaurant. Here’s Park Slope notices Fresh on Fifth and Gomez Hair Stylists have both shuttered. DuLuxe Cafe moves along on 7th Avenue, and Uncle Barry’s Bar will soon be the newest watering hole in the North Slope. Finally, FIPS says that Kiwiana – the Top Chef restaurant severing New Zealand cuisine – is open.

Dumbo
Grub Street was all over Dumbo this past week, reporting that the Dumbo General Store on Front Street is now AlMar and serving salads and sandwiches. Also, they reveal a few more details on the hyped No Name Hunts Club, the Colonie offshoot to open at 1 Main Street in January.

Coney Island
The Jew and the Carrot says a sad goodbye to Coney Island Bialys and Bagels, the oldest bialy store in Brooklyn, and perhaps all of NYC. It has been in business since 1920. And the Brooklyn Paper checked out the new micro-micro brewery at Coney Island Brewing Company. The 175-square-foot brewing quarters is thought to be the smallest in the world.

Elsewhere
The front diner section of Cafe de la Esquina is officially open in Williamsburg, reports Brooklyn Paper. Over in Greenpoint Miss Heather wonders about the new storefront at 201 Franklin Street, commenters toss around the possibility of a furniture store or restaurant. Grub Street checks out Chuko…it’s opening so soon! And Sheepshead Bites thinks that Cafe L’Azur, an Eastern European restaurant in Sheepshead Bay, may be closed.
