This is getting a little ridiculous…According to The Brooklyn Paper, another six iPhone muggings were reported in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill alone last week, including one that was snatched by a bicyclist and another that involved a victim getting punched in the face.

If all stolen devices were rendered permanently inoperable by the phone companies this would stop immediately. Instead the phone co’s hope that a new account will be set up using the stolen phone and the original owner will replace theirs, so business will improve.
But corporations are people too – so it’s all good, right?
