This isn’t nearly as big a deal for Red Hook commuters as the closure of the Smith-9th stop, but on Tuesday a pedestrian bridge running between the neighborhood and Carroll Gardens was also shut down for the next few months. The bridge, which runs over the Gowanus Expressway from Hicks Street and Hamilton Avenue to Henry Street and Coles Street, is going to be closed for repairs until the beginning of October.
