Since Smorgasburg was announced, we’ve been working on finalizing the list of food vendors for the giant food market. Now, with Saturday’s launch just three days away, The New York Times has revealed all the gory (or should that be gooey?) details. In addition to the twenty farmers that are a part of the Green Market section, there will be another 80-plus sellers of prepared and packaged food. The vendors that The Times chooses to highlight up front include the Meat Hook, Shorty Tang & Sons, Queen’s Hideaway founder Liza Queen and the audaciously named Bon Chovie. A longer list is here. And, trust us, there’s something for everyone. Smorgasburg will take place on Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm at The Edge site on North 6th and Kent where the Brooklyn Flea takes place on Sundays; the Brooklyn Flea will continue (with its regular roster of food vendors) on Saturdays at 176 Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene.
