The maintenance work that began at the 15th Street and Ft. Hamilton Parkway subway stations in mid-January, resulting in the suspension of Manhattan-bound F and G service, will be done in about a month. The MTA has informed the community that on May 23rd, northbound service will resume at the two stations, as shown in the Windsor Terrace Alliance’s countdown clock above. Meanwhile, southbound service on the two lines from the same stations is scheduled to be suspended from this fall to next spring as part of the Culver Viaduct rehab work.

Checked again on my way home. Currently indeed all old tracks are gone and some new appeared.
Keep in mind they do more than just put up new tracks. For the already done section the tracks have been put into a new concrete foundation.
Still skeptical….
How is it a resumption in service or a return to normalcy if, shortly after the northbound trains come back, these stations will then lose southbound service for most of a year?
It just seems like they’ll be getting it from a different direction.
Almost all of the work is with the structure under the tracks and at the two stations.
The MTA routinely rips up old track and replaces it over the course of a weekend.
On some sections the old tracks are still being removed. Judging from how long it took to build new tracks before I would be amazed if this will finish in time.
All that needs to be finished for this stage is the North/Manhattan-bound rails.
I was just looking at the work yesterday. It looks a long way from being finished. I hope it’s true.
