Wow, what a typo re-Fernando’s. Anecdote alert- 15 years ago when all of you cute young fresh faced things started flocking here from…where do you come from? Ladue? Bellevue? Atherton? Edina? Chevy Chase? Lake Oswego?
Anyway, spouse and I are returning from his parent’s home in Carroll Gardens to Park Slope along Union Street. Perky 20 something couple biking from PS to CG with looks of beleaguered confusion.
Man stops to ask us, “Hey, do you guys know…..”
Blair from Facts of Life look-a-like snaps at him derisively, “They won’t know anything…”
Us, “Well, what are you looking for?”
Man sheepishly whispers, “Ferdinando’s….”
My spouse, “Oh, you want the Focaccerea…go three blocks up…blah blah blah”.
And now you guys are blogging about it….that is soooooo CUTE! Keep rockin’ that quaintness, I look forward to a comfortable retirement in one of the suburbs some of you came from ; )
