240 Kent is now boasting a glassy addition after a long time of inactivity…a whole new building has been attached to the three-story warehouse that was seeing some upkeep in June. (The initial Scarano design called for seven extra floors but the architect was switched up back in 2008.) Do you like how the addition to the original structure played out?

  1. A better question is what is this for? The property is zoned for manufacturing, and the addition (and old building) are proposed for commercial use. (They are also directly across River Street from the NYPA power plant and the Con Ed transformer farm.)

The addition is fine – nothing to get excited about; the styrofoam and stucco on the old reinforced concrete building is unfortunate.
