The Isabella came back from the dead and re-launched at the end of September after a $22.6 million loan came through to complete construction at the 63-unit Clinton Hill building. Back then, pricing ranged from $365,000 to $795,000. So how are sales going? A broker laid it down for us: “30% sold, 5 contracts out, closings towards the end of the month. FHA approval pending.” According to StreetEasy, no official price cuts, but there have been a few minor price increases. Not bad…

  1. The glass monstrosity on Clinton is a horror show. It doesn’t it in with the other buildings on the block and looks like it was slapped together with glue and tin sheets. I shudder to think of what this new arena on Atlantic Ave will look like.

    There goes the neighborhood…

  2. The price range listed is the current range, not the previous – if you look at StreetEasy, the $795,000 unit in contract was originally listed at $980,000 back in ’08 for instance. Seems to be selling much better now with the cuts. They haven’t put the upper floors up for sale yet – my guess is they are waiting for the lower floors to sell out so that they don’t have to cut as much on the upper floors since it will no longer be in an empty building.

Don’t think much of the design, but its far better than the empty hole that was there for years and it will be good for local businesses once closings start.

  3. I am one of the people who bought in this building and currently waiting to close. I admit the outside is nothing to look at but the interior is well-constructed and spacious. And even at the higher than average maintenance fee, it is still very affordable.

Based on my conversations with the brokers, the sponsors are not eager to unload fast. In fact they have already raised the price across the board. I guess they are confident on people’s demands for this place…
