New Foreclosures Down Citywide, Up in Brooklyn

Overall, new foreclosures fell in New York City in the fourth quarter, according to Property Shark. That statistic is a little misleading, however, since Queens, which roughly four times as many foreclosures as any other borough, experience a very large decline. Foreclosures actually rose in the Bronx as well as in Brooklyn, where relatively big numbers in Bushwick, Canarsie and Gravesend resulted in a borough-wide increase from 80 in the third quarter to 91 in the fourth.
