rice-small-012811.jpgThe Local shares some terrible news today: the Rice location at 166 Dekalb Avenue will close this Sunday. This comes years after we found a Craigslist advertisement seemingly trying to sell the spot. The Local also reports the Dumbo location will remain open, and we gave them a call just to confirm. (It will stay open.) Bummer for Fort Greene residents.

  1. Why the editorializing? It was highly mediocre food. Walk by it every day and stopped going in years ago.

Funny how that cute space keeps housing disappointing restaurants–Rice, and the British place before that. None of them ever seem to hire enough wait staff to do the work.

  2. Sometimes a business closing is sadly just a divorce of partners, nothing whatever to do with the food, the landlord, the neighborhood or anything else: just business partners going their separate ways.
