Presumably there’s some relation. GMAP
Botanica started making their own chocolates a while ago, I assume this is connected to that. Cocktails and chocolate? Yum.
Prieto is also the family name of the owner.
a nice play on words.
Cacao Prieto basically means dark chocolate, or dark cocoa. Prieto is a word used in the DR to describe people who are darker skinned (Not a bad word). Looks interesting!
“Hopefully this will help with foot traffic to Botanica- they have super yummy delicious drinks. Wow- I need to refine my english… ”
how is botanica doing? i went there a few times a LONG time ago and had a great time.
There used to be an aero space company in those buildings- they had cool looking helicoptery things hanging in the big window to the right…

If you go to the contact tab- the address is listed for Conover Street and there is an old map of Red Hook- so it’s is the same company.
Check out the DR website, amazingly cool design!
DeLepp, it’s a new building only a few years old. I think the owner did a nice job. Much better than some of the crazy Staten Island looking buildings that are going up in the area.
How cool is this?!? This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to see more of in Red Hook and Gowanus.
