Jewish Press Building Going Storage

When the Jewish Press Building at 323 3rd Avenue hit the market with a $10 million price tag last year, the listing broker speculated that the buyer would likely be someone planning to jump on the residential bandwagon in Gowanus. That, of course, was before the famous canal was placed on the Superfund list and the two mega-developments planned for its shores were put on hold (or, in one case, cancelled). Now, if the whisper we just heard is correct, it looks like there won’t be anyone living at the Jewish Press Building nearby either. According to our source, it just went into contract with a storage company. Kind of a bummer, as far as we are concerned. Not exactly going to enhance the street life along that stretch.
