    Caribbean Heritage Month Celebration
    Anybody want to celebrate the Caribbean?     Reading Series: No Book Jackets Required
    The Montauk Club is pleased to announce an evening celebrating literature as part of their new reading series, No Book Jackets Required. Featuring authors Nelson George and Jessica Hagedorn and curated by James Hannaham, the event is produced in partnership with Ringshout and the Asian American Writers’ Workshop.     24th Annual BID Meeting
    The agenda includes reviews and highlights of the past year, including the BID’s budget, a look at some of their exciting new upcoming projects and the distribution of the 2010 Annual Report. Their keynote speakers: Mr. Andrew Steininger, Capital Budget and Policy Specialist from the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, Councilmember Letitia James, District 35, Councilmember Stephen Levin, District 33 and Regina F. Cahill, President of the North Flatbush Avenue BID. The meeting will be followed by a networking reception with food and drinks from Oceans 8 Sports Bar and Grill. This event is open to all Property Owners, Commercial Tenants, Businesses, Residents and Friends of the North Flatbush Avenue Business Improvement District. Please RSVP. Wednesday, June 23.     Green Team
    The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Green Team of volunteer stewards have returned to the Main Street section of Brooklyn Bridge Park for the 2010 season. Green Team members donate thousands of hours to provide critical care for the much-used park located at Main and Plymouth Streets. Be one of the many to help out with the Conservancy’s environment.     Pie Crust Workshop and Tasting
    Brooklyn Brainery’s teaming up with with Lauren Cucinotta from Pie in the Park to host a workshop that will conquer all your pie crust making fears.     Community Rally: Saving the B71 Bus Line

    The MTA service cuts are just days away, and we’ll be losing one of our vital lifelines connecting Cobble Hill to Prospect Park – the B71. For those that are fervid or otherwise about the B71 route leaving, please attend this. Your voice needs to be heard. Wednesday, June 23. 5 p.m. Free. Meet at the Union and Smith Street Stop.
