That didn’t take long. On April 28, Thor Equities revealed its plans (complete with soulless renderings) to tear down the Henderson Building at 1238 Surf Avenue and replace it with a temporary retail structure. On Saturday, a poster on the Coney Island boards put up this photo of the dumpster outside the historic Henderson: “Today there were two large dumpsters on Henderson Walk,” he wrote. “One was right against the Henderson building itself. The second story window about the dumpster, the plywood and the windows were removed to make it easy for people to throw things out the window and have it land in the dumpster.” How about a little adaptive reuse? Come on.
