GAP-pedestal-0510.jpgRecent arrivals to the Borough of Brooklyn may be used to seeing everything from mardi gras beads to a statue of Buddha prankishly laid out on the otherwise empty pedestal at the northern tip of Grand Army Plaza, but for almost four decades, until it was removed in 2003 as part of a construction project, a bust of JFK graced the site. Now, however, after a seven year absence, some money issues and some creative tweaks from the original artist, version 2.0 of the JFK bust was put in place on Friday, according to the tipster who sent in these photos. You can read more about the background story on the bust in this 2008 article from the Wall Street Journal.
