Streetlevel: A New Cocktail Spot in Williamsburg
Though they’re not expecting to officially open for another 4 and a half weeks, Dram is already sitting pretty on 177 South 4th Street between Roebling and Driggs — in the old Chickenbone Cafe space. We stopped by the soft-opening party on Saturday night to check out the digs. Wood-paneled walls and a long, canoe-like lantern over the bar kept the space cozy. Barkeeps were dressed up in vests, and large, cushioned alcoves provided comfy seating areas. Tom Chadwick, who crafted some of the cocktails at Rye, is running the show with Theo Peck in the kitchen. If Chadwick’s boozy Mai Tai, piled Snow Cone-high with pebbled ice, or Peck’s chicken confit nuggets with spicy mayo are any indication, this place has a lot of potential. GMAP
