Bill Withers has led a reclusive life for the past couple of decades since he dropped out of the spotlight. Documentary filmmakers Damani Baker and (Brownstoner brother-in-law) Alex Vlack managed, over the course of the last several years, to earn the trust of the legendary songwriter and have put together a compelling documentary on the man and his music; if you attended the Bill Withers tribute concert in Prospect Park a couple of years ago, you’ll recognize some of the footage. The result, Still Bill, will be making a one-night stand tonight at BAM. If you hustle you can make the 4:30 show.
