The News story about the loan shark is intriguing: It’s like, “You say ‘loan shark’ like it’s a bad thing.'” The guy was reportedly well-liked for providing a service because “we have no banks” in Prospect Heights. (Apparently the victim, a former heroin addict named ‘Red,’ was the local ATM.) True?? If so, you brownstoning types have some work to do, community-activist-wise.
Final call for TONIGHT’S Second Annual End of the World (Or Maybe Not) Party for Friends of Brownstoner.
It will be held this evening at Union Hall in Park Slope.
The gathering starts at 6pm. From 7pm on, we will have our own dedicated space at the back of the bar. Hope to see you there!
