Streetlevel: Pilar

Pilar, with the tag line “Miami comes to Brooklyn,” opened recently in at 393 Classon Avenue, offering Cuban fare to the residents of Clinton Hill (think empanadas, croquetas, bocaditos, cuban sandwiches). When it opened in early September, The Local gave it a positive review, and residents seem to welcome the new flavor to the neighborhood—the eatery stands apart from more restaurant-heavy stretches of Clinton Hill and Bed-Stuy such as Dekalb, Fulton, or Lafayette, which gives it a more secluded feel.
