Earlier this week we shlepped into Manhattan along with Fleamaster Eric Demby for the Municipal Art Society‘s annual awards ceremony, held this year at the Chelsea Art Museum on 22nd Street. We were honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the planning and preservation group for the Brooklyn Flea‘s “exceptional contribution to the life of New York City.” More specifically, The Flea got props for “providing an alternative to big-box retail that embodies a private sector spirit while yielding generous public benefits.”
