Checking In On The Lofts on Lex

We’ve wanted the Lofts on Lex condos to do well from the beginning. First, because we have a soft spot for Lexington Avenue; second, because we tend to prefer loft conversions to new construction; third, we like to root for attractively-done projects, especially in places like Bed Stuy that get dealt more than their fair share of crap. So how have they been doing? So-so, we’d say. According to the developer, five units have closed and three are in contract; they had accepted offers on a few more but the “challenging” financing environment has not made things easy. There are no plans to go rental, says the developer, and offers at or slightly below $400 a foot are likely to get a deal done. Current listings range from $399,000 for a 916-square-foot loft to $849,000 for a 1,524-square-foot penthouse.
