How to Get a Bike Rack Near You

One minor downside of how biking is getting more popular in the city: bike parking is getting harder to find. Some businesses offer bicycle parking as an incentive or a perk, but the rest of us have to hope for space a city-owned or privately-provided rack, or risk removal by locking bikes to structures not intended for them. Here’s a tip: you can request a bike rack from the Department of Transportation by filling out an online form. Don’t expect one to show up immediately, though. They say they have a serious backlog of requests.
