Streetlevel: No Boar’s Head for 117 Court Street After All

Last November, reigning retail broker Tim King set off a flurry of speculation when he announced at the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable that a high-end food retailer had signed a least for the space at 117 Court Street at a rate of $125 per foot. Much guesswork ensued, until someone on Chowhound authoritatively declared that the lessee was none other than Boar’s Head. Now that’s looking like a bum tip: A sign that just went up in the window reveals a “fine delicatessen,” called F. Martinella, is on the way. A recorded message says they’re hiring for all positions, offering “competitive salaries” and benefits to full and part-time employees, and that they’re an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace. Maybe they have good roast beef, too?
