Streetlevel: RICE Cafe Debuts at the Pop-Up Park

After getting an early look at the Pop-Up Park this morning, we swung back a couple hours later with the family in tow to sample the grub at the RICE cafe set up amid the picnic tables and mounds of grass. We were struck by the decidedly un-Asian tilt to the food selection. In fact, not a single piece of rice on the menu! (A edamame hummus was the closest thing.) Instead, we found selections that would look more at home on the Cafe Habana or Bonita menusfish tacos, burritos, grilled corn a la cojitaand a few kid-friendly options like hot dog and fish and chips. And, perhaps more importantly, for those lazy summer afternoons and evenings, there are three beers on tap in addition to four wines (white, rose, red and prosecco). Food and drink menus on the jump.
