  1. In the 60’s there was a truck accident, the truck was carrying Parrots and they escaped. The Parrots started to nest and the rest is history. Sometimes the Asshats from the pets stores try to catch them and sell em. ASPCA sets up dragnet to prevent them from doing this. If you go around Ditmas Park in the morning you will see plenty of them.

    The What

Someday this war is gonna end…

  2. If you go to the North side of the football field, Campus Road between East 21st and 23rd you should be able to see. There are large stadium lights on poles where the parrots would build fairly substantial nests. That’s what i remember from when I was a student at Brooklyn College in the late 80’e early 90’s. Things may have changed. (Inside joke from that period. Anyone remember the feeding Tree on Flatbush Ave? They were rumored to sell food.)

  3. The front gate of Green-wood cemetery (5th Ave. and 25th St.) is a prime nesting place. Also, I heard a lot are on the Brooklyn college campus. I live near there and see the parrots (or monk parakeets) all the time.
