Here’s some good retail news for Red Hook: Next Saturday a new store called Metal and Thread will open on Van Brunt between Dikeman and Coffey. The shop will carry a variety of local, handmade work, including textiles, metalwork, furniture, jewelry and woodwork. Denise Carbonell, who has a gallery on the Lower East Side, is one of the people behind the store. Metal and Thread will be open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. GMAP
