BLJ-Postcard2.jpgOver on the Brooklyn Flea Blog today, we announced an exciting tie-in for the opening day of the market. At 2 p.m. on April 6, Sharon Jones will be performing at the historic Brooklyn Masonic Temple—located directly across Lafayette Ave. from the market—as part of the Flea’s grand opening! The show has been put together by boomBOOM and will draw from Sharon’s Baby Loves Jazz project, a collection of funkified kids-music classics. (Sharon’s longtime band The Dap-Kings played on Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album.) Tickets are available now for $15 in advance—half what Sharon’s sold-out show at the Beacon Theater cost last weekend.

  1. Someone bought my kid the “Duck Ellington” CD from the “Baby Loves Jazz” series and it is terrible.

While the music is average at best, the story and dialog are just awful.

While I like to support local artists, this crap does not deserve our support.
