A publisher based on 3rd and Bond streets (yes, very close to these guys and also these guys) is about to up Gowanus’s bookish quotient. PictureBox, which has had an office on 3rd Street since September of last year, is turning part of its space into a storefront where it plans to sell books, host book signings, and maintain a gallery. The company specializes in art and comic books (some of its recent titles are by Brian Chippendale, Cheryl Dunn and Frank Santoro), and it expects to open the new space sometime in January. GMAP
