The plywood surrounding the lot on the southwest corner of Columbia, which has been used for various public art projects in the past, has been covered with posters and renderings advertising the “Royal Retreat Hotel” and the property’s supposed developer, Anytime Development. The renderings (see photo on jump) and semi-earnest copy go into a fantastic—and almost believable—level of detail (“This development features grand architecture, luxurious accommodations, excellent restaurants, beautiful gardens, cooling fountains, swimming pools, waterfalls and an abundance of activities including nightlife entertainment”).
