Streetlevel: Cafe & Gallery for Pioneering Stretch of Atlantic

Going where other upscale shop owners have feared to tread, the owners of a new space have placed their bets on a stretch of Atlantic Avenue in Clinton Hill that has yet to get the attention of the gentry. And they’re not doing it half-way: The interior design of the cafe-gallery-lounge at 936 Atlantic Avenue looks more stylish than anything else to hit the ‘hood in recent memory. As noted on the Clinton Hill Blog, the name ‘Frank White’ refers to a drug lord played by Christopher Walken in the 1990 movie King of New York; a reader comments that Biggie Smalls, who used to live a couple of blocks from the new space, often referred to himself as “the black Frank White.” Anyone been yet?
