Prospect Heights bar hoppers are going to have a new place to belly up to soon. A storefront on Vanderbilt between Dean and Bergen is being rehabbed and will open as cocktail lounge Weatherup & Co., according to one of the guys sprucing up the space. He told us the gin joint is the brainchild of one of the principals at Chinatown’s East Side Company Bar. It’s unclear whether Manhattan speakeasy impresario/master mixologist Sasha Petraske has anything to do with this bar. Either way, it seems to be good cheer for a stretch that already boasts solid boozeries like Soda and Beast. GMAP
