Development Watch: 93 Nevins Street

We stopped by the worksite at 93 Nevins Street during the Open House NY event last fall when the focus was on stabilizing the old brick structure, which had sat empty since being gutted by a fire back in 1980. The former launderette is now being converted into two townhouses by adding another two stories. The whole thing is being done to conform to the American Lung Association’s (ALA) Health House program, which is focused on the toxic emmisions from building materials. Not surprisingly, this green angle is forming the basis of the property’s marketing campaign. Judging from our swing-by last week, construction isn’t exactly flying along though. No word on when this puppy should be ready or what kind of dough the developers are going to be looking to extract from buyers.
