Dumbo: Book Party at Prague Kolektiv
Stop by modern Czech design mecca Prague Kolektiv tonight to celebrate the release of the new book Life Happiness Surprise by the Czech Republic’s leading graphic design group, Studio Najbrt. In conjunction with the book launch, there will be a presentation by the Czech designer Alan Zaruba and a showing of designs by Studio Qubus and Jerry Koza. NYC-based graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister, known for his design of the Talking Heads’ album Once in a Lifetime, will also be on hand. Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m, Prague Kolektiv, 143 Front Street.
Carroll Gardens: Naughty Architect Protest
Join Bill de Blasio at the site of Robert Scarano‘s latest proposed project as the councilmember calls for the New York State Department of Education to strip the prolific architect of his license to practice in an effort to send a message to other architects or developers who violate the city’s building codes. The rally starts at 12:30 at 360 Smith Street at 2nd Place.
Clinton Hill/Fort Greene: Rezoning Hearing
At 10 a.m. the City Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the proposed contextual rezoning in Clinton Hill and Fort Greene; this is the second item on the agenday. The hearing will take place at Spector Hall at 22 Reade Street in Manhattan. (Tomorrow at 5 p.m., Marty Markowitz will hold a similar hearing in the Community Room on the 2nd Floor of Brooklyn Borough Hall.)

now that two people have mentioned assaulting the borough president, i believe that conspiracy charges also apply
thank you for posting this stuff B!
I’d like to punch Marty too.
No, 11:16, you cannot punch Marty tomorrow. Besides the fact that assault is a crime — actually, I believe just threatening to do so is illegal — he and his staff have been helpful with the rezoning of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
Hopefully Mr. B will have follow up on the CM De Blasio rally and if the Scarcatect himself decided to show up to defend his honor or what’s left of it.
I noticed there is a stop order on a Scarano building on St Marks Avenue between Grand and Classon, in Crown Heights. I like his designs, better than average, but he should indeed be stripped from his license.
But tomorrow can i still go and punch Mary Markowitz’s fat bloated stomach in at 5pm?
The only thing happening today (June 6) at the City Planning Commission is formally deciding to place the Fort Greene / Clinton Hill rezoning on the agenda for the June 20 public hearing.
Robert Perris, District Manager
Community Board 2
Yay. Thanks for bringing back the events, Mr. B
