Even though it’s still listed for $900,000 on The Developers Group website, the last remaining unit at 226 Richardson Street in Williamsburg was just posted on Craigslist at $875,000. The 1,924-square-foot duplex unit sounds reasonable on a per square foot basis for that price, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s a nice loft or a cave because the only photos in the listing are clearly from a unit on a higher floor. Nonetheless, as we mentioned when we first wrote about this development (which has been marketed as Luxe226), we think this is a good example of a new building that is both modern and fits in nicely with its surroundings (and we’re not usually huge Gene Kaufman fans). So who’s seen this place and why is it not moving at this price? As you can see from the sales date from PropertyShark on the jump, the two penthouses, which are 1,878 square feet and 1,698 square feet, both sold in the second half of last year for $1.12 million.
