Evidently, having to keep the Department of Buildings apprised of his renovation activities at 155 Water Street is too much of an inconvenience for developer Joshua Guttman. The building currently has three open DOB and one open ECB “Work Without A Permit” Violations on it. Last spring, DOB also received complaints about unsafe work conditions. It’s unclear (to us, at least) what the building is going to be used for when the reno is done. We should probably be counting our blessings that Guttman didn’t find a reason to tear this place down, but we can’t help wishing he’d sprung for some wooden windows on this place. GMAP P*Shark DOB
