Building Brooklyn Awards Winners Announced

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce has just announced the winners of its annual Building Brooklyn Awards. The Chamber’s Real Estate & Development Committee selects projects from the last year that distinguished themselves in twelve categories of design; in addition, three awards are given for economic impact. We’ve listed all the winners on the jump and will be taking a closer look at each one over the next days and weeks. In the Affordable Housing category, the Imperial Apartments (top) won accolades. The South Slope Condominiums at 270 21st Street (middle left) won in the Residential: 1-5 Dwellings category and the L3 Condominiums (middle right) got top honors in the Residential: Multi-Family slot. Another cool-looking winner was the Redhook Stores project (bottom) in the Design and Economic Impact category. We’ll get into more detail about each of these at a later date; the other winners are listed with photos on the jump. The 2007 Building Brooklyn Awards (BBA) ceremony and cocktail reception will be held at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Wednesday, July 18. Update: We’ve added complete info on architects, developers, etc. on the jump.
