Wednesday Food and Drink Round-Up

Smith and Vine
268 Smith St., nr. Degraw St., Carroll Gardens; 718-243-2864
“Smith and Vine, the Carroll Gardens wine store owned by Patrick Watson and Michele Pravda, has moved down the block, more than doubling their space and establishing one of the city’s biggest single-malt-scotch collection, with between 50 and 80 labels. Stinky, the cheese shop Watson and Pravda opened in the fall, is staying put. We’re just disappointed Smith and Vine hasn’t been renamed Drunky.” [NY Magazine's Grub Street]
After the jump: Hallelujah! Donut Plant comes to Court Street! Also, Andrea Strong visits the Farm on Adderly and the Pork Chop Express hits up Sikorski Meat Market.

Cobblestone Foods
199 Court Street, Carroll Gardens
“No longer must us Brooklynites bear the clamorous, piss-soaked ride on the F-train to fulfill our Sunday morning Doughnut Plant cravings. Thanks to Cobblestone Foods we can now land a freshly-made Mark Israel creation right here in Carroll Gardens…I know I’ve spoken at length about the marvelous consistency of Doughnut Plant’s yeast-raised dough, but I’ll say it again it’s the best dough around.” [Blognut]
Farm on Adderley
1108 Cortelyou Rd., nr. Coney Island Ave., 718-287-3101
“The smash hit of the night—other than those fries—was the roasted chicken ($15), a French-cut breast that is served with a tangy braised cabbage that was vinegary and bright and almost pickle-like in its intensity (YUM), and a pile of wonderful chive spaetzle that was crisped up in a sauté pan, a touch that I really love.” [The Strong Buzz]
Sikorski Meat Market
603 Manhattan Avenue, 718-389-6181
“The old-guard pork palaces in Greenpoint (Steve’s, Polam, etc.) are known for their generosity, but Sikorski’s takes it an extra mile. They harbor an understandable affection for their smoked meats, and are more than happy to let their links do the talking… in the form of big chunks offered as tempting samples. Hunks-a-plenty good reader, hunks-a-plenty.” [Pork Chop Express]
