Hot Diggity Dog: New Eats in Park Slope

Come Valentine’s Day, Park Slope is getting a new hot dog shop — Willie’s is set to open at 351 5th Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets. The owners are long-time Park Slope residents Ellen Lutter (Adam Sander’s costume designer) and Tom Anderson (a lighting techie for the Soprano’s), and they named the place after their dearly departed black lab, who used to sit in front of the fridge and beg for hot dogs. They’ll be offering a choice of traditional, organic, and veggie dogs with homemade toppings and fresh-baked challah, rye, and multi-grain buns. They’re even making their own Twinkies and other retro desserts. We’re loving the design in this skinny space — one wall is covered by a mural of flying hot dogs, and the other is decorated with photos of locally rescued dogs. Take a look inside after the jump…
