Another player has entered the Fort Greene wine market. After collecting signatures from area residents last fall, husband-wife team Emilia Valencia and Michael Yarmark got their liquor license and opened Thirst Wine Merchants at 187 Dekalb just before Christmas. Like a handful of other stores that have opened in Brownstone Brooklyn in recent years, Thirst is targetting affordable unfiltered, natural wines from small producers.
