Development Watch: 467-487 Sterling Place

469 Sterling
There’s a new construction project taking up 75 feet of frontage on the Northern side of Sterling Place between Washington and Classon Avenues. The developer paid $828,658 for the property in August of 2004 and then about a year ago tacked on a $13 million loan to finance the structure you see rising above. The weird thing is that we can’t find any construction permits on the DOB website, just some demolition permits from last April. However, Property Shark shows that the sites are listed as having three five story buildings on them, which implies something was filed since there used to be just one-story structures. Any help? Check out a shot of the development when it was just getting going back in September on the jump.
Update: A reader points us to the website of the developer, The Bluestone Organization. Looks pretty upscale, ‘specially for this part of town. If this place can succeed along with Pacific Blue, it’ll really open up the whole area between Washington and Classon.
