There’s no reason a hip boutique hotel and a taxi driving school can’t exist side-by-side in perfect harmony, but the juxtaposition in this photo taken from 4th Avenue of the Andres Escobar-designed structure really drives home the proximtity. While the views out the back of the Gowanus Canal may be “breathtaking” (as the Courier recently wrote), but the view of the Boymelgreen monstrosity across 4th Avenue won’t help boost the nightly rates. Last we heard, the developer was gunning for a Q1 opening. Think he’ll make it?
