Destroying the Evidence on 22nd Street

Say what you will about Knockout Construction’s lack of morals and ethics, but those guys can really boogie when they want to accomplish some illegal demolition! And what a great work ethic: They’ll even work holiday weekends (when there’s not a chance in hell one of the corrupt lazy DOB inspectors would get off his turkey-stuffed fat ass to check up on them)! After we posted the video of the mechanical demolition proceeding sans permit last Tuesday, the crew working at 340-342 22nd Street went into overdrive, as the accompanying video shows. As of yesterday, there wasn’t a scrap of evidence sign that two buildings used to stand on the site. And now perhaps the saddest news of all: The old lady who fought the developer of 340-342 22nd Street, until her recent death has had her heirs sell her house at 338 22nd Street to said developer, dishonoring her memory and hooking up the developer with 75 feet of frontage.
