Fort Greene isn’t known for being particularly Irish but the owners of the soon-to-open Mullame’s Bar & Grill are betting that residents will want to eat and drink in a pub-like atmosphere. It makes some sense to us: There are surprisingly few places in the immediate area that offer a good selection of on-tap beers and inexpensive grub. And they’ve picked a great corner at Lafayette and South Elliott. The proprietors have undertaken a fairly ambitious renovation that’s included a great deal of work to the exterior, including restoration of the first-floor cornice. If only the bagel store next door looked as good.
