Big Changes for North Flatbush Ave.

7crunch.jpgPaul Haye, the owner of Christie’s Jamaican Patties, recently lost the lease for his shop, which was located on the northwest corner of Sterling Place and Flatbush Avenue for 40 years. His move (one block south and across the street from his old location) is one of many changes for North Flatbush Avenue, where Park Slope Sports Club became Crunch Fitness, the Flatbush Pavilion movie theater reopened as American Apparel, and the 99-cent store, Plaza Discount Deals, is preparing to close up shop. “Obviously, the neighborhood will survive,” says Haye. “It will just be a less interesting place.”
