The Brooklyn Downtown Star reports on the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Target store at Flatbush Junction. As usual, the center of attention was borough beep Marty Markowitz:

“I’ve been telling people to invest here for years,” gloated Borough President Marty Markowitz. The beep was wearing a ceremonial white helmet, and holding a shovelful of already loose dirt near the State Senate district he represented for over twenty years…”If you look at a map,” diagrammed Marty Mark, “this is the heart of Brooklyn. So goes Flatbush Junction, so goes Brooklyn.”
