Artist Francis Guy painted Summer View of Brooklyn (oil on canvas), in about 1820; it’s now in the museum collection of the Brooklyn Historical Society. This is a view seen from the window at 11 Front Street–right under what is now the Brooklyn Bridge. Although Guy made several other versions, this is the only known summer scene.
