kayaking
Tiring a bit of our local playground, we headed out early Sunday morning with the two-and-a-half-year-old Miss B for a visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park. The nautical-themed playground was a big hit, and it was all we could do to tear our young charge away to explore the waterfront. Good thing we did! We hadn’t gone fifteen feet when we were offered a ride in a kayak by someone who turned out to be the head of the Long Island City Boathouse. So before we knew it, we had donned life jackets and were cruising the inlet with our guide. Though we’ve lived in New York City our entire life, this was the first time we had ever been in a non-motorized boat in one of the city’s waterways. Thanks, Erik!
