From the Forum: What Is the Best Way to Remove Paint From a Marble Mantle?
A homeowner wants to remove paint from the original marble mantels in their townhouse. What is the best way to remove the paint without damaging the stone underneath?
A new homeowner is looking for tips on safely removing paint from marble. A previous owner painted over all the original marble mantels in the townhouse and the current homeowner has been experimenting with removing the layers. They are concerned that some methods will remove the paint but damage the marble. So far, they’ve done tests using a heat gun and chemical stripper. How should they remove the paint? Should they hire a professional?
Please chime in with your advice.
