From the Forum: Adding a Rear Extension to a Brownstone

A reader is considering adding an extension to their brownstone and is looking for advice on any issues that they might encounter. They need to renovate the garden floor apartment and are hoping to extend the back wall of the house at the same time. They are contemplating adding a single story extension the full width of the house. Will foundation work be needed?
